I finally watched High School Musical 3, twelve years after I intended to. And I know, without a doubt, that it was a completely different movie than it would have been if I had seen it back then. Which makes no sense on paper, but it was 100% true.

(I wound up very meh on it overall. But anyone who thinks the song Troy sings in the second film is the epitome of melodrama turned hilarious, they need to check out his solo in THIS one. Holy shit. I might watch that video again.)

it makes perfect sense to me, there are shows and movies I loved when I was a lot younger that I look back on now and say "I can't believe I used to think this was so cool...."

Prepared for my speech, gave my speech. Wrote a brief for work.

Put together my bag for the protest tomorrow. Still need to make a sign. Hope we have some poster board lying around here, otherwise will have to stop at Walgreens and make it in the car.

Now watching some Doctor Who and eating dinner.

A whole lot of nothing. Watched TV coverage of the protests, looked at stuff on social media, and played games on my phone. I was going to bake a cake but that ended up not happening so I might do it tomorrow. And I'm about to head to bed soon since I woke up super early this morning and was never able to fall back to sleep.

Had insomnia so played Animal Crossing until 5 AM. Woke up sometime in the afternoon. Existed in emotional pain for a while. Called my best friend. Went for a little drive. Went grocery shopping. Came home and chilled/watched the news. God this President is disgusting.

Watched Dramatical Murder and read Descendants of Darkness. I should do some work now.

Worked most of the day, very boring workday, mostly just super repetitive dull tasks. Played some Internet chess, went for a walk, dinner is currently cooking, just normal stuff.

Went to the Fire station, did mail and such, attempted to get my repaired window screen, but they hadn't finished it, voted (local elections), came home and attempted to figure out why my kitchen sink wouldn't drain - unscrewed all the pipes, etc.

Later, Monstrous Bebe and her boyfriend came by with laundry, and he took all the pipers apart again, and took the stupid disposal off, and we're going to get new pipes tomorrow (they're very cheap). It's either the disposal (hate hate hate) or something further down the pipe which is going to be a bitch to clear (I don't have a snake!).

Stupid sink.

Oh! Had a free soup at Panera, and got 'summer corn chowder'. It was underwhelming, to say the least.

All Panera's soups are shipped to the stores frozen and then thawed on-site, so I'm not surprised.

I like the French Onion, but the corn chowder was *really* thin, and had very little corn, and didn't taste of....anything.

Soup is problematical.

Went to work, read a lot of coverage of the protests and am still debating whether to go to one; COVID cases are still rising, if slowly, here, and large gatherings are still banned. There’s been some buildings burned down and looting after police tear gassed and pepper sprayed protestors and shot them with rubber bullets; one lady is in a coma. And my lungs and heart are kind of iffy so maybe I will just donate money, idk.

I debated on going to the protest in my city, but decided not to because I live with my parents and I didn’t want to put them at risk in case I got sick, so I just researched where to donate and made some donations.

Still working from home. I thought I had a video conference call this morning. Turned out it was just a conference call. I ironed a shirt and put on eyeliner FOR NOTHING.

earlier today a car crashed into a street sign that happens to be right at the edge of my driveway and then sat there on the street for like an hour and a half. spent the whole time updating my mom and then my dad and then two friends of mine who were expecting to see me, when i had to tell them i couldn't leave my driveway.

funnily enough it was a 15mph sign warning for a sharp curve ahead. the sign post is totally flattened now.

just a few hours ago, went to a protest in solidarity w black lives matter in my town that was perfectly peaceful. all day long people on facebook were threatening to shoot the place up "as soon as the first window is broken" but nothing of the sort happened. and we were all home by curfew~

Cower in fear due to the severe thunderstorms that were coming down in my area.
