I am completely incapable of being objective about this moment, because I have both a wing kink and a casual courtesy kink a mile wide, and this one little gesture just set off a lovely ping in my brain the first time I saw it in the trailer. Not even the vague peeve of Crowley's wings being black when in the book they're very pointedly the same colour as Aziraphale's could punch through it.

Though, I think Aziraphale is just generally the sort to be reflexively courteous. It wouldn't be a stretch for him to absently shield probably even his worst enemies, let alone someone he's having a semi-friendly philosophical conversation with.
