I’m sad that the Amazon version of The Tick was dropped. But I’m way too salty over how they quietly released its much stronger second season underneath a huge and seemingly inescapable advertising push for the then-new The Boys.

(Even though they’re different beasts and it was probably due to the management change, it’s hard not to feel that the thought was “grittier/more cynical/more gratuitous superhero = better”.)

Ooh, see, I didn't like it at all... maybe I'm just biased to the old live-action one, but this one took itself way too seriously, and I just couldn't get into it.

Ayrt - yeah, I think the first season was uneven (the pilot especially had me worried), but the second season imo did a solid, sustained course correct on tone and characters. It still responded to being set in current times but felt closer to previous Tick incarnations (at least, comic and cartoon - I never saw the older live-action).

AYRT-- oh my gosh, please go watch the older live-action, it is the absolute pinnacle LMAO. Patrick Warburton is the Tick, he's just too stellar. And good god is it funny. It holds up!
