I really do try to like all the Companions. But every time I rewatch, Rose Tyler irritates me just a little more. I think I really do dislike her. She treats her family and Mickey terribly, acts like she owns the Doctor and is jealous when he dares talk to anyone else, and in Journey's End she cares more about herself and seeing the Doctor again than what is going on. She was okay with Nine, but even then she was rude to Mickey and Jackie. Then Ten came and she became awful.

Bonus: If we could have had the Moment instead of Rose as a companion, that would have been better. It wasn't the actress, it was the writing and the character.

Rose is among my least favorite companions along with Adric and Mel. There are some Rose episodes that I do like, but the romance between her and Ten that the show kept pushing on me really pissed me off.

I agree completely. I think part of it was the actress for me as well, like the character was so big and...well, annoying, that her actress just got swallowed up in. She didn't have the charisma to make the character endearing, nor the power to support some of the actions or decisions the character made. She did the best with what she had, but I do think a better actress would be able to sell the character a little better, even if they were just as irritating.

I think you should get your fic proof read if at all possible but...

I secretly find the 'NO PROOFREADING WE DIE LIKE MEN' tag amusing XD

Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make...

(Anonymous) 2020-06-05 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
I kinda like that tag, too :D. I just keep getting this image of somebody shouting it while pumping their fist in the air defiantly...only to fall over afterward :p.

I STILL chuckle when I see that tag. I really don't know why.

Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make...

(Anonymous) 2020-06-05 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Huh, I've never seen that tag in particular, but I actually have the same reaction to the 'die like men' tags. I find it so much fun and I have no idea why people take so much offence to it.

(Anonymous) 2020-06-05 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
I've never heard of that before but I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for it now, lol.

Same, it's funny. That being said I'm surprised the amount of people who just assume some writers choose not to have beta readers and proofreaders instead of the obvious "they just don't have access to anyone to help them". For any number of reasons. Maybe they're new to writing and haven't bad enough connections for that? Maybe they just want to enjoy writing and not bother with the time consuming process of working with a team to edit it? IDK.

That being said...there's always two types of people that use this tag. People that obviously use the help of programs with spell and grammar checks (not perfect, it's a computer but still it's something) and check over things multiple times themselves (again, not as good as having another pair of eyes but if you're good/thorough enough it's the next best thing) and then...people who it looks like tapped things out on their phone and didn't have autocorrect on.

I don't mind David Tennant but I much prefer Crowley's voice in the BBC radio version of Good Omens.

I was actually a little excited when I first heard that the live-action Beauty and the Beast was going to "feature a gay character", but I'll never in a million years forgive them for not only making it a half-hearted attempt with Gaston's simp, but that it wasn't Cogsworth and Lumière as a gay couple.

Even as a kid I thought they were in love!

[The Last Leg: Down Under (yes it was 2016 I've been stewing in this resentment for that long)]

I don't think Adam Hills should have apologised for being pushy. Josh and Alex shouldn't have agreed to do a different version of the show if they weren't willing to actually participate in everything and go out of their comfort zones. Adam could have done the trip with more interesting guest stars.

ngl that special put me off TLL when I saw it bc I hated how pushy Adam was and it just seemed so off-character to me. I legit haven't watched it since.

(I love you so much for doing this secret makers! You're the best! <3333)

I would never want to go to the live finale of RuPaul's Drag Race ever. The only reason being that there would be no such thing as a good seat.
With all the Drag Queen's in the audience and my height, I'd be lucky to get a look over someones hairline, let alone a sea of gigantic wigs.

I’m sad that the Amazon version of The Tick was dropped. But I’m way too salty over how they quietly released its much stronger second season underneath a huge and seemingly inescapable advertising push for the then-new The Boys.

(Even though they’re different beasts and it was probably due to the management change, it’s hard not to feel that the thought was “grittier/more cynical/more gratuitous superhero = better”.)

I've noticed I've been writing reviews like a reality TV cooking show would judge a contestant... Like:

'This is hot as hell! The fluff you added marinated perfectly with the angst you had boiling up so far! Not to mention the salt coming from Character A! That extra dash of humour really raised this to the next level! I am just eating this up! I would order this for every meal if I could!'

S!B: It's becoming a really nice framework to comment off if I'm being completely honest;; no matter how weird as fuck it is to do so.

I hate love triangles in general, but I really hate it when the heroine has to choose between the decent guy and the asshole. The heroine almost always fits better with the decent guy who treats her right, but for some reason, the author wants to pair her up with the asshole and will turn the decent guy into an even bigger asshole to make the other one look like the better choice in comparison.

Fandom: Dramatical Murder

I really did enjoy this game (minus some of the extra squicky bits), but I still kinda wish Aoba had been the seme at least once. Preferably with Clear, but Koujaku would’ve been a good option too. It was just kinda boring that he was always the uke.

The juggernaut pairing in one of my fandoms squicks me out a lot. Normally I'd just blacklist everything related to the ship, but lately there have been so many instances of untagged posts, shippers hijacking unrelated discussions, and fic either untagged or tagged wrong; at this point I'm seriously considering just leaving the fandom entirely. I'd probably be pretty sad about it since this particular fandom helped me get through a lot of 2020, but I'm not sure how much more "accidental squick" I can take.

(On a very much related note: "Gen" does not mean "Three paragraphs of lovingly staring into each other's eyes," for heaven's sake.)

I wish I lived in another part of the world where celebrities didn't have to have perfect white straight teeth because then I'd feel less self control nscious about my jacked jaw.
