What is everyone doing this weekend?

I am going to start crocheting my mother's birthday gifts. Making her a sort of garden with some mushrooms, a snail, maybe a rabbit. Other than that, trying to get rid of my headache.

I'm told that next Sunday is Mother's Day in my country so my friends won't be available; I'll stay home and sulk and watch series and drink lots of tea.

Ah, have fun relaxing.

I'm finishing a pinch hit for an exchange, sewing more masks, and possibly visiting some family.

It will be. Still trying to decide how to bring it all together.

Maybe set it up like a terrarium?

Nothing special. Went grocery shopping today so I'm good on food for awhile. I'm going to make tacos in a bit for dinner, and then watch some stuff I've DVRed.

I think I'm going to bake cupcakes or something this weekend since I haven't really had any sweets since I made cookies a couple weeks ago.

Other than that there's always cleaning to be done, and I'm going to try to do some reading since I haven't read much lately.

Those sound like really cute ideas! Are you following any particular patterns? I hope your headache clears up soon as well.

I'm going to work on my finals. They're all due on Wednesday and then I have to present one on Friday via Zoom. I really hope my internet doesn't decide to be stupid that day. I may also go to the mall. Half the stores are open, including the local bookstore, and I want to go support them.

For the mushrooms I am using this one. https://intheyarngarden.com/portfolio/colorful-mushrooms/ I am using worsted weight so they will be a bit bigger. Not sure about the rest yet.

Man, it is crazy to me that people are still in school. Are you doing the exams online?

Cute! Thanks for sharing the pattern. And yes, all my exams are online and thankfully all my professors are very understanding. They've said many times that all we need to do is email them if we need an extension or if there's another issue. My sister had a very unreasonable professor who insisted students needed to show up to Zoom lectures at a certain time and then locked the room as soon as the meeting started so nobody could get in, has said multiple times that she would not be giving anybody extensions unless somebody's died, and wants all the students to have their cameras on while they take the final to make sure no one cheats.

I might end up at a protest but probably not. God, I'm so tired.

Hey, apply the oxygen mask to yourself before helping others. There are lots of other ways to help and the best one may very well be rest up so you can survive and maybe fight later, in better form.

Thanks. I keep telling myself that. I've been donating a little bit, sharing on social media. Today there was a small protest by the coffee shop I went to and we honked our horn a few times. The other thing is that I'm terrified, of both cops and COVID.

I'll probably wind up doing some gardening, and on sunday I hope to play Numenera! I both eagerly await and dread what the DM has in store because she hinted at the beginnings of personal problems for our characters and we've already wrapped up one very emotional plotline without anyone's backstory being involved.

Catching up on my reading, watching "True Grit" (2010), and hoping I wasn't exposed to coronavirus due to the worker replacing the hot water heater and working w/o a mask in my living space and being in the upstairs kitchen for a few minutes w/o a mask. I was upstairs sleeping and when I was awake, my asshole "stepfather" was "supervising". None of us were wearing masks so now I have to assume we've been exposed & play the waiting game!

True Grit is a great movie. I hope the person wasn't sick. :( I am surprised he didn't have one on. Well, depending on what part of the world you live in, it isn't that surprising.

I'm out of ideas on how to promote my fav fandom so I'll spend the weekend making submissions to X-Character-of-the-Day tumblr blogs and hope that having it featured here and there will help.

Aw, do you mind saying what fandom?

Have to bring my phone into the store tomorrow because the battery is dying. Going to work on job applications. Other than that, watching Doctor Who and sorting through music. And catching up on sleep. I just accidentally took a 4 and a half hour nap, so I think my body is telling me I need to sleep.

My dad finally passed away wednesday night, at home, while under round-the-clock palliative care. I was on the night train home and arrived about eight hours later. I debated whether or not to see the him, but I'm so happy I did! <3

We had a lovely ceremony with the deacon and the funeral home had dressed and arranged dad so that he looked like he was sleeping peacefully. <3

Now, I'm gonna stay at mom's for a couple of weeks and help with everything. It feels very good to be here.

I'm lucky enough to be able to work remotely. The only thing I worry about us that my friend will tire of taking care of my cats and that my cats will pee on the bed, but I'll handle that when I come home.

Oh, and on Wednesday, there will be a press conference in Sweden declaring who murdered our Prime Minister in 1986. In case anyone wanted 2020 to get any weirder.

I am sorry for your loss but glad that you are finding comfort with your family.
