Wait, so they actually made him a full on hero on Chicago PD? I used to watch Fire and he was literally the villain when he first showed, I figured the PD would keep him that way but I also stopped Fire soon after so I never caught crossovers. Still, hero, huh.

IDK about cop shows, as pretty much everyone who commented, I only watch B99. I never got the appeal of cop dramas, like half of what they do is super unrealistic. I love unrealistic tv but in the form of fantasy and SciFi, not looking for it in dramas.

They want you to root for him, he's the boss character, and yet they haven't changed him all that much. They want you to believe he's flawed but ultimately good because he's trying to do the right thing by getting the bad guys. My parents watch the show. I couldn't get into it mostly because of him, even when I was into cop shows.

I watched the show because it was a Dick Wolf show. I've been a fan of the original Law & Order since '90. But it is just...another cop show about dirty cops for whom the narrative wants you to root for. There was another one a couple of years ago with Jennifer Lopez (can't remember the name). She was a dirty cop (I think she killed someone to cover her ass in the first episode). But we were supposed to care about her because she was a single mom who was just trying to give her kid the best. I remember there was a plotline involving her having to come up with money to pay her kid's private school tuition. And I was supposed to care about her Problems.
