It's probably not the worst I've seen, but it's the most memorable because I've played Tales of the Abyss so many times. (Old spoilers below.)


Finding out Anise chose to spy on the party and aid in murder (of her closest friend no less) because if she didn't, her already-poor parents would lose their source of income entirely, is treated as such a HARD decision poor thing because they're both terrible choices! When it should actually have been a no-brainer which choice was more evil, and she chose that one.

It's a shame too, because it would have been easy to make it more nuanced. It's not hard to believe it wasn't just her parents' money but also her parents' and her own lives that were being threatened, since Mohs would certainly have the authority to do that to her. But with the way the game presents it, at best you can only headcanon that he was threatening her more severely.

I still love Anise, but that part did not have the best writing.
