...I’ve never seen or read this, but the main reason I ever heard of it was because of this AMV comedy dub (which was apparently roughly in-character?):

Though yeah, it sucks when a series you like just goes on hiatus indefinitely. Don’t know if it’s better or worse than when one gets an obvious rush ending for whatever reason. But it’s fun to rediscover something and it actually holds up!
