In this case though, the family was informed that the child had disabilities and other serious issues before they adopted him. They were hesitant to adopt him, but prayed on it and God apparently spoke to them to adopt the child. I think what rubbed a lot of people wrong was that they were apparently using this child to up their viewer count and present themselves as his saviors, but tried to cheap out on his therapies (all while showing off their huge house and going on expensive vacations) and didn’t include him in family videos once it became apparent that he wasn’t going to be an “easy” child with disabilities that they could show off. Also, they made it sound like it was the child’s decision to be rehomed when he’s only around three or four.

There have also been messages shared from I believe an adoption Facebook group where the mom indicated that she had "prayed" and decided to adopt again, and specifically asked about 'disabilities which are easy to deal with but which most people wouldn't think are easy.' Which definitely reads like they wanted a disabled child to parade around as a token of how saintly and perfect they are but didn't want to actually have to deal with basically any of the actual hardships that come with raising a disabled child.

NA - Yeah, in general I completely agree with the AYRT and what they're saying. But in this case specifically these people just come off really gross and disingenuous, and like they're doing everything for the followers and sponsorships it'll get them.

If they knew the full extent of his issues when they adopted him, then yeah, shame away. But I know from personal experience that adoption agencies are not always honest about how bad a kid's issues are, so in a situation like that I have nothing but sympathy for the parents.
