What are the technical issues? What makes a good sculpture and what is bad apart from the very obvious? Every other show of this type is also instructing the audience ("soggy bottoms"!), and this one did nothing.

Technical issues: Wilted or damaged flowers, flat compositions, lack of color variation, visible and unsightly construction details like hot-melt glue, lack of work on shaping. The technical details are explicitly explained at two points in the show, at the beginning when the judges describe the technical issues working with the medium used, and and during the judging when those technical faults are described.

Two thirds of the eliminations are for failure to follow the brief, which is a big reason why artists don't get beyond comps in a professional context. That also is explicitly explained at multiple points in the show. Yann and Henk have managed to skate through a couple of times on technical merit, but they're starting to get dinged on it.
