(Anonymous) 2020-06-13 02:10 am (UTC)(link)But if it's the one I saw, then yes, she does beat the shit out of the guy who kidnapped her and tried to rape her. He doesn't actually rape her, mostly because she pulls apart the iron bed frame he had her handcuffed to and she beats the ever loving shit out of him with an iron bar. It was amazing.

(Anonymous) 2020-06-13 02:32 am (UTC)(link)Unfortunately, in this world we live in, women frequently get assaulted. Even strong kick-ass women. And while I love Olivia and would never want to see her hurt, and agree it was probably a cheap bid, I try to spin it as a reminder that even people we care about can get hurt. Even strong people in positions of authority. And as the story continued over several episodes over the years with us seeing her trauma and dealing with that, it was I think a positive thing to see that, to see how assault can have a long-lasting reach, instead of what we see in a usual SVU episode where the story is wrapped up and the victim seems ok in end and we never see them again to see how someone deals with what happened to them.
