I totally get this, OP. I have things I'm like this with where when I'm in a bad place I start to get obsessive over and spend too much money on. Is there someone you can talk to? I've found that just telling someone when I'm spending too much on something keeps me accountable because I'm less likely to spend the money when I know I'm going to be talking to that person about it later.

That's fair. If you can't emotionally connect to the characters because they aggravate you too much, you're not going to have any interest in waiting around for them to grow as people. Sucks when it's something people keep reccing to you though.

Yeah, no, you're right.

It's just his childhood name, which they already KNOW is Yuan (his literal introduction frame in episode one calls him Lan Yuan; Lan Wangji didn't change it at all, just his family name), so if they aren't already calling him that, they're not going to start now.

Also I don't think his peers WOULD even call him A-Yuan even if they used that name for him, like how Jiang Cheng was only A-Cheng to his parents and Yanli, for example, not to Wei Wuxian, who was more his equal.
