I only know BSD but its basically entirely fictional characters who just use the names of classic authors (bungou being classic literature in Japanese). In the case of BSD the more or less only thing that connects the characters to the authors is some few charactervtraits that fit the author's literary themes and iirc, the names of their supernatural special skills and what they do are based on that as well.
