This actually reminds me of when I was in high school in my economics class we were learning about stocks and one of my classmates said her dad was investing in this fairly new company called ebay that they were hoping would give a good return. This was in around 1998 or so and I had no idea what ebay was, but I assume if I'd had the ability to buy shares at the time I probably would've done pretty well.
