My character and one other player's character have already gotten their pasts intertwined with the current arc. My conman via the appearance of his cousin, who has left their old family of nomadic thieves to settle in a city with a permanent gang, and the other character via someone who doesn't seem to quite exist 100% on the same plane of reality.
Also last session our DM said 'any aspect of your backstory I know will be used against you' and one of the characters still to go... only the DM knows her full backstory.
That's kinda scary in context.
