Are you me? Because sure sounds like it.
I hate Let's Plays though, can't handle commentary, it annoys me to no end (probably because I have a pet peeve with most "gamer types" too.)
So I resort to... not playing and spending time in other things, which isn't too bad except for when I am missing out on a popular game that sounds exceptionally cool.

Searching for "No commentary" and "walkthtough" rather than LP might help
also on the LP archive you can keep an eye out for screenshot based ones, where it's all reading, or ones without the "voice" tag.
