There's no reason to waste promotional space on something that had a very limited audience when there are shows that can possibly reach a wider audience. Now I wonder if Amazon was contracted to pay for two seasons of that mess.

I have my struggles with shows like Euphoria and Skins. I often feel like they depict drug usage or teen sex rather unrealistically, but what those shows get right is the nuance of growing up in a world where being young is celebrated as something awesome while also being told we were too young to take full control of our lives. Like, everything was a blessing and a curse and there was nothing we could permanently do about it so we have escape somehow. A lot of kids I knew did party a lot or go looking for love in all the wrong places, I often would go out with my friends all hours of the day and night with little regard for my future, so I understand the angst Skins was telling. I also feel like shows that depict adults failing kids tend to be more realistic than ones where adults intervene when problems arise but that comes personal experience so I know my opinion comes with heavy bias. Also, I enjoy A Series of Unfortunate Events' depiction of adults failing children more than say Skins. And don't get me started on Succession. I spent a month crying in my car as I listened to the soundtrack on drives home from work. They're painful to watch but cathartic.

I remember at age 14 finding a cache of very dark Mulder whump fic and being simultaneously fascinated and horrified. As an adult that makes me cringe lol but as a teen I remember choosing to ignore the age rating because I was curious. Good to see fandom is still running along the same lines XD

Use emojis. 😻 Seriously, I recently added an emoji key to the bottom of my latest fic so people who have comment anxiety can just leave me emojis, and it worked great. People have a lot of fun with them.

Maybe, but also maybe not. I haven't read the book, but I have read books where all the women were SUPER GIRLY and FEMININE, and all the men were SUPER MANLY. And that's a bit ... weird. Because most people don't fit perfectly into those pigeonholes very often, even if a few do. So it's like ... yeah, I can see it happening, but also, was this intentional???

P.S. I like masculine men and feminine women just fine. But I do feel like some authors take hyper-stereotypical gender roles as a moral stance, when that is completely unnecessary.

I was dubious about Sandi but I actually love her on QI. Watching back the ones with Stephen make me cringe now. I really don't like Stephen Fry all that much anymore in general it turns out.

That said, yeah it's not quite as funny. I think because Alan Davies just seems a bit worn out with the whole thing.
