I'm on a night train! It's "first class" -but... eh. These things were built in the 1980s and it shows. But it means the bed is comfy, I don't have to leave the cabin to pee, and I don't have to sleep with strangers! \o/

Plus, due to Covid, it was a bargain.

I fricking love trains. Part of my honeymoon was spent on a sleeper train lol. If I'd have had the money, it would have been the Simplon Orient Express.

Some day, I am going to cough up the money for a cross-country Amtrak trip in a sleeper car. Well, probably just Chicago to California because that's the part I find most interesting and it would be logistically easier since I wouldn't have to fly out to one of the coasts first. Maybe do a Milwaukee-Chicago-LA-Seattle-Milwaukee loop. That would be a lot of days with no wifi!

I love trains! I miss traveling on trains to take day trips to neighboring cities.

I used to take amtrak to see my best friend in Sacramento (I live in Oakland) and I really enjoyed it. I listened to music and read books and watched amazing scenery out the window and it was a lot cheaper than it would have cost if I drove and bought gas. Also you had to go through Oakland Chinatown to get to the amtrak station so I always bought takeout to eat on the train (I love Chinese food and amtrak didn't care if you ate on the train as long as you cleaned up after yourself)

I hope one day to travel by train. It sounds so fun. But damn, I've seen it can get pricey (at least prior to Covid).
