I'd love to see the people in power charged for the deaths they could have prevented if they'd actually been doing their jobs instead of trying to protect their investments and keep their billionaire backers rich, but that will never fucking happen.

We don't really live in a democracy if elected officials aren't serving the interests of the people.

We don't live in a society even, we live in a bloody economy.

Fuck, yes, please, this. If we're lucky enough to get a Democratic administration come November, we NEED to demand this be a thing. They cannot be allowed to walk away from all the damage and death they've caused.

And we also need to make sure we have an official plan in place, both to deal with the fallout of this pandemic and any potential future ones we might go through, and we need to tell people that if we do have to do this again, you're going to follow the rules and you're going to wear the masks and if you don't like that, tough shit, deal with it. Quit coddling these morons who are throwing hissy fits over wearing masks in public and whatnot.

I agree. I'd also love to charge the government for all the deaths of my clients who were deported when they should have been granted asylum and were subsequently killed by the exact same people we said in our case would kill them.
