I...I see your point. I LOVE 2001, but I wholly admit to the circumstances of seeing it - by myself, in an ice-cold IMAX theater (it was the 2018 rerelease).

That...that is what movies were made for, but I get the feeling of it 'paused' so much to allow the cinematography and atmosphere to eke through, and how it may not be everyone's cuppa.

I should look at 2010.

2010 is all about the ending. The ending not only fulfills the story of 2010 but of 2001 as well. The ending is beautiful, IMHO. I love it.
