Who the fuck says if you’re feminine/masculine you’re automatically transgender?

(Anonymous) 2020-07-03 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Dumb people who OP shouldn't be listening to, yet gives an interesting amount of clout

a very small minority on the internet who i only know tangentially exist but have never seen. yet they're always cited by transphobes as if when a boy/girl acts in any way not predisposed towards societal gender-norms they're immediately taken to the doctor and given hormone blockers.

Niche? Just acknowledge this mindset is more widespread than people are willing to admit.

You don't really get how Reddit works, do you.

omfg

(Anonymous) 2020-07-03 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
well, if reddit says it

(Anonymous) 2020-07-04 02:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I think a lot of us tend to share "egg moments" for a bunch of reasons. Straight culture wants to have very simple explanations around transness, and memeing something like "I should have known because I did this when I was five..." is more comfortable than saying, "since the quarantine started, I've been wearing clothes I like more often, and I have fewer panic attacks that need medication."

r/egg_irl and r/traaaaaaaaans are meme communities. There are meme communities for gay, lesbian, and bi people as well, and a surprising volume of content on the main LGB subreddits are memes or selfies. That doesn't mean that the complexities of bisexuality can be reduced the meme of the week.

+1

(Anonymous) 2020-07-04 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
There's also a big difference between trans people posting how things worked for us, and arguing that's how it works for everyone.

(Anonymous) 2020-07-04 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
You also say there only a few people who believe "genital preferences" are transphobic but ooop there are tweets expressing that very opinion that get tens of thousands of likes. this garbage tweet is a prime example: https://twitter.com/MAM1SHAMPOO/status/1278406432854073346

(Anonymous) 2020-07-04 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
That tweet says literally nothing about genitals, you weirdo.

1) not all trans women have dicks
2) not all trans women who have dicks want to involve them in sexual activity
3) some people who don't have sex with men are still okay with sex that involves dicks in some way, and that doesn't mean they're somehow actually sleeping with men

If you, personally, don't want to be involved with dicks in general, cool, that's up to you and your dating partners. If you say that NO ONE who sleeps with women would EVER want to sleep with a trans woman because dicks, that makes you transphobic. Do you understand the difference?

(Source: Me! I'm a lesbian who knows that how sex works in my relationships doesn't extend to everyone!)

(Anonymous) 2020-07-04 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
That's not what the Tweet said and you know it. It's the same your sexual orientation is bad, you need to include biological males who feel like women in your dating pool. It's the same old cotton ceiling crap and no well actually-ing from TRAs will convince people otherwise.

(Anonymous) 2020-07-04 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Let me repeat it again more simply for you, you transphobic genital-obsessed piece of garbage: I only date women, and I want nothing to do with PIV sex. Within that Venn Fucking Diagram, trans women are still in my dating pool because A) they are women, B) there need not be a penis involved, and of course C) my personal sex choices have no bearing whatsoever on anyone else's gender

If you think that dating trans women means dicks being forced on people against their will, you're a transphobic piece of shit.

(Anonymous) 2020-07-04 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Your violent ad hominem argument is so convincing.

(Anonymous) 2020-07-04 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Because accusing trans lesbians of being rapists-in-waiting, which is what the whole "cotton ceiling" narrative is about, is so much nicer?

(Anonymous) 2020-07-04 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Trans people came up with the cotton ceiling, not terfs, not transphobic lesbians, trans people. Y'all really can't admit that the belief in the cotton ceiling is more common than you pretend.
