Re: Weekend Plans?
(Anonymous) 2020-07-04 01:46 am (UTC)(link)Hot dogs were one of the first meat based things I stopped eating as a kid because my parents told me what all went in to most hot dogs, and I miss the vegetarian brand I used to get back then, they were called "Not Dogs."
The pepper relish stuff has red onions and red bell peppers cooked in butter with white wine, thyme, mushroom concentrate, dried ground chipotle pepper, soy sauce, liquid smoke, molasses, and balsamic vinegar. It's not as much work as it sounds since I just slice the peppers and onions into strips, cook them in a little butter until they soften, then add all the other stuff and give it a stir occasionally until most of the liquid cooks off. It's like ketchup if ketchup had texture and wasn't just sweet glop.
