I've made my peace with the series being entirely removed from the book. The color palette alone is so different from what I imagine Ankh Morpork to look like, it's easy to see this as just a quirky BBC show unrelated to any beloved books.

That said, the thing that keeps fucking me up about those stills are the streetlamps. Iirc another still had cables hanging over the street. Why the fuck does Discworld have electricity? It's like Frodo carrying a flip phone. What the fuuuu
