I watch most stuff like this too, usually one third of the screen for the video and two thirds for whatever else I'm doing. I mostly listen to the videos while my eyes are focused on the other stuff, so I don't really mind that much the image size. I just keep it there (instead of running in the background) in case there is a moment of silence that clearly indicates something visual is happening and I can just turn and look.

I remember complaining at the time and everyone saying I would get used to the new format.
Well it's 2020 and I still haven't. Film still looks better than digital too.

i like watching stuff in the background too. that's why i like when browsers give you the option to pop out videos and have them float wherever on your screen while you do shit (i use opera for this!). that's honestly probably why i've watched so much more youtube in the past few years and don't get around to netflix series and other junk i can't use a browser to watch haha.

I have a hand-me-down Surface I use if I want a video (or one of those ambient sound/study music videos on YouTube) playing off to the side while I use my actual monitor for work. Can't watch DVDs on it or anything but I can stream stuff online.
