I love Sanderson's worldbuilding in general. I haven't started this series yet, but i'm excited to. But yes, those look pretty bad.

It's amazing! And in-world, the glyphs even make sense, including their symmetry. It's just... so tribal...

The little "markers" do look very generic, and like multiple versions of themselves. I don't know what this is, but it does not make me want to partake. It looks like bootleg sports teams. Something very "bro-y"

They're emblems for different types of magic knights in a doorstopper fantasy series, so not particularly bro-y.

They aren't great graphic design, but the guy who designed them is a writer, not an artist, so great graphic design really shouldn't be expected.

TBH sanderson fandom is itself pretty bro-y these days

and I always thought the metals symbols in mistborn were nice - distinctive, evocative, fit the story, not too busy. so either he can make some nice symbols or he knows somoene who can

My eyes completely glazed over this secret at first, because I only vaguely processed the shapes and was like "Yup, that looks like nothing I have any interest in or know anything about."

And I've actually read and like Stormlight Archive. (Well, the first two. I'll get around to the third eventually. I have a hard time getting myself to start reading things these days.)

HAha! This was a well-timed post, since the Way of Kings Kickstarter opened today (which this particular graphic ties into with some of the swag stuff).
