As a book fan who frequently says 'The book did it better' I agree, book fans need to be more nuanced.

For instance, I really liked the film I, Robot, even though it really had very little to do with the book. I've also read The Expanse books, and there are sections in the tv series that are BETTER than the books!

It's very rare that any adaptation will get everything right. That doesn't mean they can't be enjoyed, or that they didn't get some things right (or even better). :)
