I'm making a quilt from pieces that were cut out 25 years ago.

The quilt's not done yet, but when I started putting it together I decided to finally make the "row markers" that I bought beads for a year ago.

Nice! I would love to quilt something one day, or at least learn to sew. Where did the pieces come from?

At the time I was going to make matching quilts for a friend's toddler and my own; I literally cut out 2 squares and 8 triangles from every fabric I had (even the fugly ones).

I put together 35 blocks from the old fabric, and supplemented with a few new fabrics. Here's the final design: https://i.imgur.com/mwMGJTd.png

The weird fish block on the top row, and the two "Bubble" blocks to the left of it, are going to get some applique: https://i.imgur.com/bZYHLwp.png

I'm mostly happy not to get any more reproachful looks from the dusty bags of fabric. ;p
