I hate it because if I'm going in to read fic for a particular pairing, I'm expecting it to have a particular genital configuration involved and that's WHY I'm reading fic for that pairing. Surprise!trans characters just ruins that entire thing for me because that's not what I want to read about at that point in time. If I'm looking for fic for an m/m pairing, for example, it's because I'm in the mood for dicks touching.

And yeah, people don't always tag for that, which I would think would be bad because it could trigger people who have genuine dysphoria issues?
