Almost definitely TMI and TW: Medical stuff

(Anonymous) 2020-07-19 05:07 am (UTC)(link)Like depending on why you're even on anti-blood clotting meds may mean you might not be able to safely tapper off those drugs at the risk of a more severe aliment. Even being on anti-clotting meds doesn't mean you'll be safeguarded from blockages in your system, which heavy and severe bruising have a high chance at causing due to the bloods attempt to heal the blood vessels by causing clots, but due to a lack of expulsion a cut or puncture in the skin.
I know often massaging the injured tissue helps with normal bruising, but with the added issue of your meds, this could be very problematic.
Sorry if I'm overreacting OP, like honestly I am, cause I know that's exactly what I'm doing, but I've been going through a lot of stress with my family because every single one of them likes to pretend that ignoring an issue will get rid of it. My dad went through heavy surgery recently and he's been doing well, but he has the habit of pushing until he can't anymore. Not quite breaking the doctors advice, because I won't fucking let him despite him trying to anyways- but whatever, anyways he overdid it while I was away and had a issue that should definitely be recounted to his physician, notified, and taken care of, but like always him and everyone else just doesn't say anything about it but me and I'm feeling a little intense right now. Sorry.
Do what you have to do to be safe, be healthy, don't undervalue the risks this issue might cause because your life is worth more than any inconvenience or embarrassment.

(Anonymous) 2020-07-19 11:44 am (UTC)(link)Honestly, I can't tell you how relieved I am to hear your reply! I'm like actually so glad right now not only to hear that you got yourself checked out, but that you took the time to reply just to let me know that you had. I'll admit I was lowkey worrying, and I sincerely hope that your visit sorted things out to ensure your continued health both now, and in the future. <3
It's actually nice to hear that I'm not the only one, tbh. It's tough having to navigate the virtual minefield people put up when it comes to accepting and admitting they need medical help.
I've talked with my dad, seen him, and been with him since, and it seems his overexertion hasn't drawn up any more serious issues since, and while he's still moping about not being able to do anything, so long as he doesn't take a turn for the worse, I'll take all the whining I have to hear so long as he takes the time he needs to recover.
