The more ships I support, the larger the pool of fanworks I can pick from, which means that my lake of fanworks will last a significantly longer period than your singular fandom puddle.

I think people who are extremely ride-or-die for their OTP(s) tend to be drawn to extremely massive ships.

I shipped just one pairing from 2007 to 2012, and exclusively another pairing from 2012 to 2019. I never ran out of fic that entire time, and the whole situation fit me to a tee. I couldn't have been happier.

That's not to say I agree with OP. I don't. Their secret is judgmental to an almost comedic degree.
