I can't eat spicy-hot foods. I can't eat chili, I can't eat hot paprika (sweet paprika is fine), I can't even eat large amounts of black pepper. I don't care how subtle and unobtrusive you think it is, the moment I see 'chili oil' or anything like that in the menu, I'm *not* *going* *to* *eat* *that*.
Leave me alone with my butter chicken goddamnit.

My mom is the same. But she's allergic to peppers. Not black pepper, but every other kind even bell pepper. She's allergic to capsaisin. Once was prescribed capsaisin gel for some skin infection and broke out in hives.

Me, I like bell peppers and occasionally I'll like a tiny bit of spicy. But only a tiny bit. Very tiny. Anything more than that and it will probably upset my stomach and burn my mouth.
