That...that's not what grooming means. That's not what grooming means at all.

Can you read? Writing pedophilia type fic and providing it to real children is exactly what grooming is.

Nobody is "providing pedophilia fic to real children." They are posting it on a public website that you have to be 13 years old to join. As far as I know, the authors themselves aren't hunting down underaged people and forcing fic on them. It's just that some fans came across this content on the website and when they realized it wouldn't get banned, decided to start a movement.

Deliberately and personally providing material to children in a manipulative attempt to normalize something you actually are or are intending to do to them is grooming.

Writing a fic and putting it on a public archive where people can read or not read it at their preference, most of whom you'll never interact with in even so limited a capacity as replying with a "thank you" to a comment they left, is not grooming. Especially when that fic is marked mature or explicit, which makes it glaringly obvious that the intended audience is adults, and can't be accessed by a minor unless they deliberately lie about their age.

Unless you want to accuse every library and bookstore of grooming because they have material depicting inappropriate relationships that a minor might pick up and browse through.

Shhh, don't tell them. The only reason they aren't doing that yet is because they've never been in a library or bookstore, so they don't know what kinds of things are in actual books.

God, thank you, some sense. I don't care at all for the fic AYRT is attacking, however, and as a person in a related field it just irks me soooo unbelievably to see terminology with a very specific, concrete, serious meaning just thrown around to try and make some social issue out of stuff somebody wrote that they don't like.
