Don't think it's wrong to try to make the fandom more "family-friendly" at all

I do.

I don't see how it's different having young teens come across two 40 year old characters boning versus two brothers. How dumb and/or sensitive do you think people who read slash fanfic are? They can also sort by looking at tags and avoiding things that aren't romantic over explicit.

It's fiction on a website bursting with smut. Censoring content underage users consume is the responsibility of their parents.

Not saying dumb or sensitive at all, just that normalizing these kinks in my fandom isn't something I'd like and maybe I could even join the "movement" as long as they're not being offensive, were this to happen in any of my fandoms which are often populated by children too. The issue with tags for me would be exactly that they aren't always appropriately tagged and/or use specific terminology that anyone new to fandom wouldn't know what it's about. Heck, I don't sometimes when a new trend pops up.

Again, I'd be concerned about my fandom looking like some sort of pedophile haven. And I'm sorry for kids whose parents have more things to do than censore their fanfic consumption.

Written porn isn't illegal and no age rating binds it either from a legal point of view (in most countries). If a child wants to read, say Marquis de Sade, then they can. This is the beauty of it.

I've written the worst stuff out there, any kink you can imagine. Tested nasty ideas on paper in order to see and test how people in those situations would react in my stories. My fandom had kids in it and I know junior high schoolers read my stories out loud to their friends. Instead of ruining it for others, there should be separate fandom places for kids like in a normal world (if we're really worried).

What the...? Where did "written porn is illegal" came from? I'm saying I wouldn't want my fandom to turn into pedophile haven because there are a) children and b) that kind of "kink" prevalent.

And this is exactly what I am saying: myself I wouldn't want some shit like that to become a trend in my fandom at large, and I'm kinda proud of anon's fandom for thinking like that, because my experience has always been this very same "oh, but free speech!" empty discourse. I'm not opposed to it (as long as its legal and...) being published and popular in more obscure corners of the fandom.
