Nothing wrong with that, OP. I have to be careful in my case, since all my old favorites are depressing, violent, trauma-filled and at times horrifying with occasionally tiny windows of hope, lol.

I agree.

I feel you, anon. Actually, I recently lost someone dear to me so I've been feeling that a lot. I had a few breakdowns along the years so now I'd rather watch stuff I know ends well or just genres (directors, writers, etc.) that tend to have good endings, and I'll go to bed in a bad mood if I inadvertently pick a movie on Netflix that has a sad ending.

How dare you watch the same old shit over and over just so you can cheer yourself up. Go watch something you don't care about right now. Disgusting.

Same, OP. Fandom's always been my happy place, and now more than ever, i just want happy fucking stuff.

I understand, anon. I'm kinda the opposite, though. I've found myself absolutely wallowing in the tragedy stories lately and I don't really know why. Maybe because the fandom I've been immersed in recently has more tragedy than most (Tolkien), but yeah. I think you're not alone in wanting all the comforting happiness, anon, I've seen a lot of comments similar to yours and it is completely understandable.
