Oh, thanks Case! I was wondering, but I kept forgetting to go find out if it was deliberate or whatever. Sad to hear that's it deliberate and it's permanent, because I kind of hate it, but oh well.

at the moment there are two things you can do to fix it...

first, go to your Settings, Display, then scroll all the way down to just above the site skin choices. there is a ticky box that says "turn off mobile view for this device." if you're not on mobile (e.g. using your regular computer like I currently am) then that should fix some of the major issues. not the font size or colors, but the page stretch and some other spacing problems.

the other thing you can do is go to https://www.dreamwidth.org/beta and click "opt into beta" on the second item. it'll completely turn off all the changes made for about a month or two, but eventually everything will still roll out on you. for some of us, that month or two should be enough time for the community's code guerillas to come up with css workarounds and publish them. at that point it may mean downloading stylesheets and figuring out which code to copy and paste where, but if it's that or stop using DW because you get migranes looking at the page, well, that sure is a choice.

there have been changes that just took getting used to, like changing the comment boxes or where the buttons were positioned, but this is one of those changes that pleases no one. some people are finding it improves their accessibility, while others (like me) find it actually worsens the accessibility because it can't be fixed with other browser tweaks like zooming or dictating resolution and font size. I hope they actually revert some of these or make some genuine tweaks to let coders find a workaround.
