As a rarepair shipper, I feel this so hard. I don't do it on purpose, but I keep ending up with almost no fic. And then I write my own, but that's not the same.

Perhaps the first member of that family she charmed happened to be that family's 'Iroh' and one day she marries one of that 'Iroh's' niblings and then wakes up in their shared bed and realised "... I was tricked into behing happy and living well."
And the kids came some point after she had done much healing so it wasn't a case of 'add kids to make everything better'. But possibly before that revelation.

If it's just One Plucky Girl (who's not like the other girls), then yeah, I agree.

Personally, I like stories that keep real-life injustice as part of the world of the story. But if an author doesn't make a point of showing the strength, capability, and agency of multiple female characters within the story, then yeah, it does end up feeling like it's inadvertently reinforcing the sexist worldview.

I don't know about Kanye because I honestly don't pay much attention to him. But this is how I felt about Amanda Bynes. Everyone mocked her back in the day, but she was pretty clearly suffering from mental health issues that was causing how she was acting in the public. She wasn't just having the typical "teenage girl who was once popular becomes bad girl because she can't handle the fame" story (and I generally think those girls are judged to harshly anyway). She was genuinely having a mental breakdown and needed help, not mocking.
