I'll modulate the caution above, fandoms where the original work is tropey as hell usually need less editing than stories with truly unique worldbuilding. there also are simply some fandoms whose influence was so great that the genre itself will provide your readers with some understanding. but that's not every fandom so know yours.

you should get a good editor regardless tho.
