Yeah this is what bothers me about the whole situation. I absolutely have sympathy for people who are suffering from mental illnesses that they are working hard to get under control, but a diagnosis is not a carte blanche for shitty behaviour, especially if he truly is diagnosed and refusing treatment then that is even less sympathetic than just being an asshole because you didn't remove yourself from a situation you couldn't handle.
