Rin's 10 at the oldest through everything but the epilogue to Sesshoumaru's 900-year-old 19-year-old appearance.

She's 11-12 at the end of the series from wiki/other sources I found, and after doing a bit of research (I watched part of Inuyasha but fell out of the fandom relatively early) it seems like there's basically zero hinting at any of this until some very, very mild subtext in the epilogue, and that subtext seems to be mostly fans speculating based on what they know of Japanese romantic tropes rather than anything narrative wise that Sesshomaru does. It all seems very minor to me???

The CD Drama is a little more forward with things, but there's also no indication of the timeline for that drama that I could find, so there's no clues as to Rin's age there? Correct me if I'm wrong, I just couldn't find any or maybe I overlooked it or something, the text was formatted kind of hard to read on my browser.

Personally I think both sides are being omg ////increeeeeeeedibly//// over the top about this and OP definitely isn't taking the high road here, but I'm inclined to edge myself further into her(?) corner because some of the accusations I've seen (people calling her a closet pedo, the backhanded "enjoy ur pedoships OP" stuff, etc), that's going way, way too far, and as someone who has liked some "problematic ships" myself (I shipped a cold-blooded killer samurai villain with his possibly-a-demon!ninja mute familiar like *burning*, and a lot of that included some played-as-very-sexy dub-con stuff), I'm really distraught at seeing the puritan police slowly taking over fandom, to the point where nothing short of cinnamon roll fluff can be enjoyed without submitting essays first about how you really don't condone this IRL. And like...look, if it were OP drawing and writing R18 fanart and fic of Kohaku and Rin at eleven and being all "...but this is so kyuuutee look at the adorable shota/loli couple!!!111!!" I would be a bit more sympathetic to the "this is gross" argument, but she's being tarred and feathered for liking a future relationship and for doing the crime of knowing which way the wind blows with regards to Japanese media and their tropes.

OP definitely needs to take a step back and breathe because this is clearly frustrating her and she's fighting a losing battle here on F!S of all places (maybe sticking mostly to Japanese fandom like she or another anon mentioned might be a good idea), but I guess I would be frustrated too. I've had similar arguments like this, and it's always, ALWAYS a bunch of pigs in the mud. No one is clean at the end of it.
