She's not 8 though when people are talking about this. She's 11 during the epilogue of three years later, the only time (besides the CD Drama which is even further out and has no specific timeline attached) anyone is even //remotely// saying there's even the barest, tiniest hint of subtext, and the subtext isn't even Sesshomaru doing anything, it's people's knowledge of Japanese romantic tropes making them go "maybe this could go somewhere in the future".

That is not grooming. That's simply people acknowledging there could be something there, far in the future. Grooming requires actual romantic/sexual intent, and besides the nebulously timed CD Drama, to be quite honest I don't see basically //anything//, like I would probably be one of those people if it weren't for this sequel who would be like "I think maybe anons are reading way too much into this", but they were proven right so I have to assume perhaps there was some inkling there, however tiny and insignificant.

However, after reading your back and forth with OP, I'm sorry but I see why she got so pissed at you. You're not calling her a literal pedo (although plenty of other people were and if you don't understand why you piling on top of her with all these other people who //are// saying that isn't exactly the wisest choice even if you're one of the lone voices not going quite so far as to imply she actually must want to fuck children, I don't know what to tell you), but you're coming pretty close. You're forcing her to subscribe to an interpretation of the ship that she clearly does not share, and I can see why she's resistant. The canon "subtext", what little of it there is, relies very much on things outside of the canon like knowledge of Japanese tropes to even //infer// this could possibly be a thing in the future. No wonder she doesn't subscribe to this idea that Sesshomaru is a child groomer.

She's not "kinking on the grooming", she wants to see two adults get married and have kids, and the fact that a nearly immortal demon knew and cared about his human partner when she was younger isn't that big of a deal to her. Getting called a pedo and being angrily told she needs to accept this "actually it's pedo/grooming" interpretation of her ship is a really big leap to ask.

And again, that's totally fine if you find this relationship creepy. I think plenty of relationship dynamics are creepy and I avoid them whenever possible. But I also think you're being incredibly shame-y and overbearing towards her for something that objectively is not that big of a deal (at the end of the day it's an anime ship), and on top of that you have 20 other anons beside you who //are// going that extra step and calling her a pedophile.
