After that wank under the recent Inuyasha secret, I'm once again very glad that I never got into the series back in the day. Everything I see (and have seen) about the fandom makes me think it's one big dumpster fire full of spiteful people and everything I know about the series itself (and all the other series by the same creator) is enough for me to know I would absolutely hate it considering all the tropes the creator is fond of using are all the ones I loathe.

Rumiko Takahashi is pretty amazing. She has the ability to create works that have broad appeal across nationalities, genders, and age. She is extremely prolific and I am impressed with consistency and quality of her output.

That being said, I fucking hate her romantic tropes with an intense burning passion. I don't think I could try any of her newer series at this point because I can't deal with Takahashi couples anymore.

I've got great memories of both adaptations of Inuyasha despite the wank (though I may or may not catch the sequel). Of course, this was back in the day when my interactions with other fans was contained to a very small circle and I never bothered with fanfiction or anything else relating to the fandom.

But if the tropes used are vomit-inducing, yeah, might be best to stay away.
