103/104. I tend to judge people who are so venomous in their treatment of Twilight fans. Haven't you got anything better to do? If you think it's that unhealthy and that people are headed for abusive relationships JUST BECAUSE THEY READ A BOOK, why don't you explain it to your friends to try to keep them out of those relationships?
Also, where the fuck are all you fantasy != reality people when it comes to Twilight? It's not okay to be made uncomfortable by rapefic, but fuck, it sure is alright to say that anyone who reads Twilight will never have a healthy relationship?

A large part of why I chose to make this secret was because I'd been hearing some people talk about Arthas deserving a second chance, or hoping that he'd redeem himself.

The fuck? Seriously people... He killed his own father, he's not a lost soul, he's an asshole.

Believe me, I really really really wish I could have gone ahead and made a full scale list of why he doesn't deserve anything less than a painful death and good brain nomming. But it sounded too ranty.

So, being the Forsaken fan girl that I am, decided to just do one with Sylvanas.

Maybe eventually I'll get around to making another one...

Ahhh, but people do that to every silver haired villain who ever lost his mind in a catastrophic fall from grace that was caused largely via the manipulation of a force greater than him!

Agreed. Agreed so very, very hard. ANY form of fiction can be influential, but that doesn't mean that everyone exposed to it will follow in the footsteps of the main characters.

While I agree with you on one level, on another level rapefic is largely a niche thing, whereas Twilight is in every bookstore and was made into a film and is so popular now that it has to be giving some younger girls lame ideas about relationships just by sheer virtue of being everywhere and more accepted in general. We're used to seeing the hate in fandom, but IRL it's not like that.

That said, I found the first two books entertaining enough, melodrama and all, and I laughed my ass off at the movie ~~and had asinine fangirly conversations about which guy was hottest~~, so I'm no one to judge.

103/104: Rapefic would make me uncomfortable. For me, if rape was present in a fic, it wouldn't be as a plot device (an excuse for h/c or whatever), it would be because it PSYCHOLOGICALLY/MENTALLY/PHYSICALLY fucks a person up, and usually I'd like to explore the aftermath of something like that, to see how they could grow (or regress/change) as a person.

That said, it's not a matter of ANYONE who reads Twilight never having a healthy relationship. It's the people that read Twilight and *sigh* and get all dreamy thinking Edward is the best boyfriend EVAR!!1!!! It's the people that read the series but don't COMPREHEND it, don't ANALYZE it like we do with every other piece of "literature" out there. Fantasy ≠ Reality, but the people that adore Edward and his behavior don't comprehend that anymore than the folks that dislike Twilight (sometimes) do.
