108. By 'friends' do we mean fandom friends, or RL friends? I never feel ashamed of telling my flist I've got a new pairing, but I know what you mean if we're talking RL. No one wants to sound pathetic. But if it really makes you happy, I can't see why you'd stop. There is such thing as a 'guilty pleasure.' For some people it's ice cream, others it's soaps, and for you it happens to be slash.

Haha, it's not that I'm particularly well-known, it's just that whenever people do recognize my name, they're always like, "Hey, you're that kid that wrote that one fic." It seems ungrateful to complain, but it makes me die a little inside every time it happens.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I feel like such a douche complaining, this is the first time I've ever actually put it down into words, but it just makes me wonder. Why does this happen?? What are we doing wrong?
