No, it has a stupid heroine who justifies cheating in relationships and driving a depressive to suicide in the name of "love". It's repulsive.

Damn, I don't think I read the same book. When the flip did she cheat? I think I need to reread it.

She seduced Henry when he first met her (but she'd met him before) despite the fact that he had a girlfriend. That was his bad. But when she found out (right after) she still didn't stop (so I think that was both of them), and then was mean to his ex, who was mentally fragile. I had a really hard time with all of that.

Sorry for my strong words. I just felt more sympathy for the ex than for either of the two leads, and I don't think that was the author's intent.

Just by virtue of taking an active role and doing some seducing she sounds like a more interesting character to me. Bella spent most of the books mooning.

Also, in a situation where there's cheating going on, it's not the responsibility of the single person to police another person's relationship. The fault lies with the one who's got the partner he's cheating on, not the mistress. She's betraying no one, IMO. If he's willing, it's his own fault.

I REALLY hate cheating and the mocking of suicide. That instantly loses my sympathy as a reader.

And I didn't say she did the cheating; I said she justified (and enabled) his.

Claire certainly did her share of mooning and whining (she was the ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD who'd ever had problems getting pregnant, omg no one understood her pain!) - just not about the same thing.
