What it means is that someone in the Hetalia fandom, more than one person no less, gets off on Rape of Nanking fic. It could be anyone I talk to who likes Hetalia. It could be you, for all I know.

Do you like China/Tibet? Does that person over there? Does this person here? Did they write this brutal rapefic? I can never know for sure.

When it comes to this sort of subject matter, not knowing is a dealbreaker for me. I refuse to associate with someone who could potentially have jerked off over the deaths of thousands, or a community that allows these requests to go uncontested and praised and filled.

Every fandom has those people. Are you saying you never participate in fandom at all?

It's called "hate the sin, not the sinner". Based off of the kink memes from some of the other fandoms I've been in, people also get off on child molestation and violent rape. Personally, I'm disgusted by that even when it's all fictional characters. Should I then treat every single person I meet in those fandoms as though they were getting off to pedo and non-con daily and nightly? No, because I don't know, and if you don't know, you can't judge. Your argument works the other way too.

Because instead of asking someone, or you know, not automatically assuming someone is a horrible person because "OMG SOMEONE WHO LIKES THIS THING LIKES THESE THINGS TOO!" and pulling a tinhat, it's perfectly reasonable for you to go "you like Hetalia OH MY GOD YOU MAY GET OFF TO THE RAPE OF NANKING I REFUSE TO ASSOCIATE WITH YOU KNOWING NOTHING OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT YOU LIKE HETALIA!!!"

Seriously. You're an asshole. And if you have this reasoning, I doubt anyone sane in the Hetalia fandom would like to associate with you any more than they would the people who made those requests in the kink meme.

You have a point. At all the anon responses I read so far, I get the feeling that OP made the secret solely to point fingers at those few requests and expected the rest of us to go on a hunt and 'burn the witches'.

I refuse to be roused and rounded by this. I had nothing to do with the meme, I didn't know it even existed. But, like I said in my initial response on page #6, I judge anon too. Had OP pointed out a reliable reason for judging the rest of the Hetalia fans (which the kink meme is not, by any means), then the point might have gotten across. As it stands, I find myself judging OP for their apparent attempt at uproar and drama. Because that's what this secret and their responses look to me.

There's no such thing as fandom police. And while I do find those prompts potentially disturbing, suddenly pointing fingers at and '(self?-)forbidding' them is not going to make them stop. Moreover, who really wants to judge Hetalia and its fandom by them, does not really deserve to be in the fandom in the first place - especially because the fandom in itself is so multi-national and multi-layered that if they don't have it in themselves to accept different people and their different points of view on history, of not bother to actually read the original strips and form an opinion based on that - then they're better off being fans of something else.

Like I said before, I'm new to the fandom and I find it pleasant. I don't care what kinks a person that greeted me with "hi, welcomeee :D" might have in private/the kink meme. They're nice to me and I'll judge them through actual communication with them. You can't know what the person writing a kink meme like that might have been thinking - it could have been a single person, too, for all we know.

In short - OP's argumentation is not convincing enough; ergo point not convincing enough. Try again.
