... Seriously? For you, everything about history has to be 100% serious business all the time? You can't enjoy anything that makes light of any historical references, and don't care if the canon actually doesn't might light of some of the more important occurances?

Oookay. I wouldn't touch the canon then, if I were you. Though your "I dislike the Hetalia fandom" says that you give more of a shit if people like it than you're wanting to admit to. I just wish people would actually check out things before forming their opinions on what other people say about it, because other people can be pretty bad sources of information.

Let me clarify: I'm sure all you folks who like Hetalia are wonderful people, but personally I don't find Hetalia inteesting or funny. And I think writing smutfic about historical events involving the deaths of thousands of people is really fucked up. Again, you can like Hetalia. Doesn't mean I have to like it or like what the fandom produces.

Okay, I can see that a lot more. And I'm sorry if I came across douchy. I can understand not wanting to get into a series because it seriously doesn't look good to you -- I just don't feel inclined towards some series for the same reasons. It was just the "I dislike the series and the fandom" bit that upset me, because I haven't been in fandom long and seriously have seen hardly ANY of that. I don't think most of what fandom produces is anything like that, and I don't mind if you don't like the series, again. It just feels weird to get into something, then look around and find out that people's perceptions on what the series and fandom must be like are totally and completely different from what I've been experiencing, and I start wondering where those perceptions are even coming from.

Again, apologies for getting so defensive. The hate for this just seems to come out of left field a lot of the time for me, and I overreacted. Thank you for being civil to me about it, when it would have been very easy not to be.

Yeah, I understand that. I wrote that comment, like, IMMEDIATELY after I saw the secret, so it's not really a well reasoned or thought out post. More like a "They REQUESTED that?
