Yeah, there are the usual squeeing fangirls that think he can do no wrong but that happens for every villain that's even remotely sympathetic.

I saw it all over right after ShB. I still see it. I didn't like that we got no choice in our reaction to his asking us to ~remember his people~, either, given that he would never have thought twice about ours.

I have the same feelings over Gaius "Daughterfucker" Baelsar.

I reflexively say "You fucked your daughter!" every time Gaius appears on screen. It's making him having more foster kids seem extra skeevy.

Oh definitely. I'm glad someone else remembered Gaius fucked Livia. She's likely the way she is BECAUSE of him. He's a user and manipulator. I have never once given him a favorable answer in our prompts.

Emet was dying and WoL is generally portrayed as a nice (if sometimes snarky) person, the writers can have that one.

And as for Gaius, I bet you're enjoying the fuck out of the Ruby Weapon storyline aren't you? Have fun killing his whole family, nonny~

Plenty of people have died and I'd still spit in Emet's face for DARING to ask us to remember him when he'd forget all about us in a heartbeat if he got what he wanted. My sympathy for him went down there, because how DARE he after so many others died for him, after so many SUFFERED because of him.

And TBH I feel bad for the kids. Gaius is reaping what he's sown, and I don't feel he gets to be fucking offended that the kids he indoctrinated to the Empire Way Of Life are now throwing themselves away for it. I feel sorry for the KIDS but they weren't "family" as much as Square wants us to think they were. He explicitly chose kids he saw going far in life and left behind those whose potential he didn't care for (see: Lucia). He's an awful person, but that's not the fault of the kids.
