oh come on anon, there are some pairings and dynamics where that would absolutely fly and readers would eat it up. I have two or three ships where I think I've written something very similar.

well, not knowing the pairing it's entirely possible that it's totally wrong, you would know better than I. but as a general turn of phrase, don't knock it if it works for the pair. or the situation. sometimes we all just want indulgent pulp fiction and phrases that would be ridiculous out of context are perfectly fine within it.

With no context this sounds right at home in a comedy. But as some anons above said, it could definitely fly in certain pairings and it would be said *very srsly* (and I say that as someone into characters who would say that kind of cheese lol)
