I like O'Brien as a character, but I can't really think of him as a romantic figure because his face seems too small for his head, lol.

I always shipped Bashir more with O'Brien, too! There was a fanfic author back in the day that I ADORED who wrote this pairing (and my favorite self-insert of all time, too) named Blue Champagne... damn, this secret has me all nostalgic and now I want to go find those lovely old fics and wallow in them a bit. Even though I absolutely adore Garak x Bashir, I do like Miles x Bashir too - although when I first got into DS9 a couple of years ago I was a little mad at Miles treating Bashir like he was annoying and felt like he was just about his friend let alone anything more (and I was super biased because Bashir is my favorite lol).

However, after rewatching the series a few times since then I've changed my mind on that.
