Actually, I think it makes perfect sense, when you take real history into consideration. I mean ... no country goes un-fucked by another, and countries do rape others of their pride, or economy, or population, so....

Precisely! Or, as they stated in the 'letter', the Rape of Nanking. It's a horrible tragedy, yes, but it's history, and people have to learn to cope with it.

And seriously? It's just fiction. Get over it, y'know?

Exactly. Fandom isn't meant to be taken seriously. If people enjoy it, then let them enjoy it and ignore it if you don't like it.

This reminds me about that secret a while ago about one of the concentration camps and how it was 'so horrible' to use a picture of it in a secret.

I can totally agree that it makes sense, but I can also agree that when you think about it even a little bit historically, the idea that people are getting off to stuff like that is pretty sick. I love the idea of fics using it as like... an actual plot point, showing the horror and tragedy and after-effects of it, but just LOL HOT PORN weirds me out, I gotta admit.

That said, then these people (at least some of them) seem to leap straight onto the "IF ANY HETALIA FANS LIKE THIS THING THEY ALL ARE HORRIBLE AND EVIL AND DISGUSTING AND EW ALL HETALIA FANS," and that's just so much fucking fail it's staggering.
